Emergency Services Shared Living Provider

NCSS is seeking a positive and skilled Shared Living Provider (SLP) whose home is in Northwestern Vermont. This SLP will provide crisis residential support services to potentially any person supported by the Developmental Services Division at NCSS. The home will need to be accessible, and the guest stay room will need to be capable of supporting a variety of guests who display varying behaviors and medical conditions that require crisis care.

Key provider strengths will be flexibility and responsiveness, the ability to transport and support daily activities of living, use of de-escalation communication skills, and the ability to work with a variety of support care teams. The right candidate will be available 24/7 during their agreed contracted days and will have vacation and scheduled time off. Due to the potential nature of the various crises, the guest space should not allow access to children or animals. Documentation and team meeting attendance will be mandatory, and the contractor will work with the DS Emergency Services Team Leader and the members of the DS Emergency Services response team. Training and supervision will be provided.

Candidates must:

• Have experience with and be comfortable providing personal care and communication support.
• Promote independence and provide a caring living space.
• Be 21+ years of age and possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Pass background checks.
