Soar Learning Center one of the locations chosen
ST. ALBANS, Vt. (WCAX) – Ben & Jerry’s workers took part in a community service day on Tuesday.
Employees were in various locations in central and northern parts of Vermont.
One of the nine locations, the Soar Learning Center in St. Albans, had around 30 volunteers. Tasks included cleaning and washing cars, cleaning the kitchen space inside the learning center and pressure washing outside of the property.
Overall, there were about 300 volunteers at various locations throughout the state.
We need a reason to keep going on every day, encouraging people, you know, just even the little things like cleaning their vans, cleaning the kitchen, doing things that they don’t have time to do because they’re taking care of the kids,” said Craig Holcomb, the community action team lead.
Volunteers also gave out free ice cream.
